Woman, Two Children Go Missing During Walk; Her Husband Receives QR Code For Ransom Payment

A 29-year-old woman along with her two children, a 10-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son suddenly went missing in Kushinagar. Her husband filed a police complaint after an unknown person sent QR code for paying ransom amount of Rs 1 lakh

A woman and her two children have gone missing during a walk in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. After this incident, an unknown person has demanded a ransom of one lakh rupees via WhatsApp messages from her husband.

The kidnapper has even sent a QR code for the ransom payment. The police have registered a missing person’s report and have begun investigating the case.

On August 1, a 29-year-old woman named Preeti, from Ward No. 10 of Fazilnagar Nagar Panchayat in Kushinagar, went out for a walk with her two children, 10-year-old Deep Shikha and 9-year-old Divyanshu.

They went missing near a canal, creating a stir in the area. Three days after their disappearance, Preeti’s husband, Swatantra Singh, received messages and calls on WhatsApp demanding one lakh rupees as ransom.

Swatantra Singh asked the alleged kidnapper to allow him to speak with his wife and children over video call. The kidnapper messaged stating that “the daughter is gone”.

On August 4, Swatantra Singh informed the matter to the Patharwa police. The police registered a missing person’s report for Preeti, without mentioning the two children. The police’s lack of progress in the investigation even after six days of has raised questions.
