Two Terrorists Killed In Encounter With Security Forces In Jammu And Kashmir’s Kupwara, Search Operation On

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara killed two terrorists in an encounter which began on October 4 following intelligence on infiltration.

Two terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara on Saturday. The gunfight in the area had been ongoing since Friday evening.

A search operation in the area was underway, and the bodies of the terrorists were retrieved.

In an X post, the Army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps mentioned that a joint operation by the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched on October 4, based on intelligence inputs on infiltration in Gugaldhar.

On Thursday, a brief exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists during a search operation in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Based on specific inputs about the presence of terrorists, the security forces launched a joint search operation in Chatroo, a police spokesperson told news agency PTI.

On September 13, two Army personnel, including a junior commissioned officer (JCO), were killed in an encounter with terrorists in the Naidgham area of Chatroo.
