This Indian-Origin Part Of US’ 10 Highest-Paid CEOs List, Beats Sundar Pichai & Satya Nadella

Nikesh Arora, 56, CEO and chairman of Palo Alto Networks, is ranked tenth among the highest-paid CEOs in the United States. He has overtaken Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella.

The research, by C-Suite Comp, was based on two metrics — “total compensation granted” in 2023 and “compensation actually paid”.

Neither list included the Indian-American CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai or his Microsoft counterpart, Satya Nadella.

Nikesh Arora of Palo Alto Networks, on the other hand, appeared on both lists. He earned $151.4 million, ranking fourth on the list of “Highest earning CEOs in the US by total compensation granted in 2023.” Furthermore, Arora also ranked the ten “highest earning CEOs in the US by compensation actually paid in 2023,” with an annual salary of $266.4 million.

Nikesh Arora (CEO of Palo Alto Networks): A Little About Him

– Nikesh Arora completed his schooling from the Air Force Public School in Delhi. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University.

– He also has a master’s degree from Boston College and an MBA from Northeastern University.

– Nikesh Arora held significant leadership responsibilities at Google for ten years. He resigned in 2014 to become President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SoftBank Group.

— He became Palo Alto Networks’ CEO in 2018. His impressive resume includes positions at Google and SoftBank Group.

Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk topped the list, earning a whopping $1.4 billion in 2023. Only one other CEO has reached the $1 billion mark: Alexander Karp of Palantir Technologies.

In 2023, below are the highest-paid CEOs in the United States according to ‘compensation actually paid’:

– Elon Musk, Tesla: $1.4 billion.

– Alexander Karp, Palantir Technologies: $1.1 billion.

– Hock Tan, Broadcom: $767.7 million.

– Brian Armstrong, Coinbase: $680.9 million.

– Safra Catz, Oracle : $304.1 million.

– Brian Chesky, Airbnb: $303.5 million.

– Jon Winkelried, TPG Capital: $295.1 million.

– Jeff Green, The Trade Desk: $291.7 million.

– Adam Foroughi, AppLovin: $271.3 million.

– Nikesh Arora, Palo Alto Networks: $266.4 million.
