‘Strangled With Laptop Charger, Body Stuffed In His Own Bag’: Gruesome Details Emerge In Flipkart Delivery Agent’s Murder

The victim identified as Bharat Kumar, was killed on September 23 by the accused, Gajanan, and his accomplice, Akash

A 30-year-old Flipkart delivery agent was allegedly strangled to death with a laptop’s charger cord in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow after he went to deliver two smartphones worth around Rs 90,000, ordered on Cash on Delivery. According to police, the two men strangled the delivery agent and stuffed his body into his own bag before dumping it in a canal in Lucknow.

The victim identified as Bharat Kumar, was killed on September 23 by the accused, Gajanan, and his accomplice, Akash.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh said, “A Flipkart delivery agent, Bharat Kumar, was reported missing on September 26 by a Flipkart representative Adarsh Koshtha in Chinhat Police Station. Following which a search operation was launched.”

“The movement of the delivery agent, his last location, the number of orders delivered, and the number of orders yet to be delivered, were found to be suspicious,” Singh said, adding, “We asked the company to provide us with his details. We started investigating and questioning people.”

During the investigation, the police seriously questioned Akash Sharma. “He then confessed to killing Kumar along with his associate Gajanan,” the police officer said.

Akash had used the phone of one of his friends to order the two cellphones — a Vivo V40 Pro and a Google Pixel 7 pro — which cost Rs 90,000 via Flipkart using the cash-on-delivery option.

“In greediness to keep the two phones without paying, Akash and his friend Gajanan Sharma lured the delivery agent into their house and strangled him with a laptop charger. They stuffed his body in the Flipkart bag and dumped it into a canal.”

“Akash Sharma has been arrested and confessed to the crime. The two phones which were ordered have also been recovered. The delivery agent’s motorbike has also been recovered,” DCP Shashank Singh added.

Meanwhile, efforts are on to search for the dead body. “We are in constant touch with NDRF, SDRF, and local divers,” he added.
