The SSC Stenographer online application correction window will be available from August 27 to 28, 2024
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the SSC Stenographer Exam 2024 on July 26, 2024. The registration process for the recruitment exam will end today, August 17, 2024. Candidates can register from the official website of SSC at ssc.gov.in. This recruitment drive aims to fill a vacancy of 2,006 for Grade C and Grade D stenographers. The online correction window will be available from August 27 to 28, 2024 and the exam will be conducted in October-November 2024. The SSC Stenographer exam is a national-level competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) of India. This exam recruits’ stenographers for Grade C (Group B Non-Gazetted) and Grade D (Group C) positions in various ministries, departments and organisations of the Indian government.
The stenographers are responsible for transcribing spoken words into written form, often during speeches, conferences or meetings. They also assist in preparing official documents and perform clerical and administrative tasks.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed their class 12 examination or equivalent from a recognized board. The age limit for Grade C registration is 18 to 30 years (born between August 2, 1994 and August 1, 2006). For Grade D registration, it is 18 to 27 years (born between August 2, 1997 and August 1, 2006)

Step 2: Click on the ‘Register Now’ link and login yourself .
Step 3: To register candidates must provide personal information including name, parental names, birth date, email, and mobile number.
Step 4: Submit the registration form.
Step 5: Log in using your provided Registration ID, birth date and password.
Step 6: Upload scanned photograph and signature.
Step 7: Pay the application fee.
Step 8: Review the form and submit it.
Step 9: Take a printout or screenshot of it for future reference.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Steps to Check Application Status
Step 1: Visit the official regional website of the respective regions.
Step 2: Look for the ‘Know Your Application Status’ link under the Notices section.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Application Status for SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D 2024’ link.
Step 4: Enter the required credentials and login.
Step 5: The application status will then be displayed on your screen.
Step 6: Save or take a screenshot of it to track the application in future.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Application fee
Application fee is Rs 100 for General and OBC candidates. SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen and female candidates, are exempted from the fee.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024:Exam Pattern
The selection process involves a computer-based examination (CBE) followed by a skill test in Stenography. The CBE includes sections on General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning and English Language and Comprehension. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted. The total exam duration of the examination is of 2 hours and questions will be set in both Hindi and English.
