Scottish Traveller Takes Tram Ride In Kolkata, His Adorable Interaction With Co-passenger Viral

The trend of making travel vlogs has made countries more accessible for the common man. Even though not everyone can travel to another country, one can sit back and watch the vloggers exploring new cities and getting to know more about various cultures. Often a foreigner’s interaction with a local catches the attention of the internet because of their heart-warming gesture that goes viral on the internet. Something similar was witnessed by a Scottish travel vlogger named Dale Philip, who was recently exploring the trams of Kolkata.

Trams in Kolkata are an integral part of the city, its rich history and cultural heritage. So, naturally, as a tourist, Dale Philip was intrigued to travel on a tram. His clip begins with him happily hopping on a tram and asking the conductor about the price of the ticket. He learns that it is Rs 6, but has only Rs 100 currencies on him, so the conductor does not charge him any money. The video cuts to him striking up a conversation with a fellow passenger named Suhail Akhtar. Dale asks, “You a Muslim?” to which Suhail responds, “Yeah, I’m a Muslim, but no problem.” He continues, “Actually, in India, there is no religion. This country does not have any religion.” He further added, “It is a secular country.” When Dale agreed and said that he had seen many Christians as well, Suhail chimed in, “All are living in peace. Christians, Hindus and Muslims, all are brothers.” The fellow passenger did not stop there and continued that the people of India “do not differentiate between people.” Apart from the conversation what also won Dale’s heart is that Suhail Akhtar also paid for his ticket before alighting the tram.

(I am) Not from India but I loved that guy.” One added, “India needs more Suhails.” A social media user wrote, “Hey Sohail Bhai u dropped this” and added crown emojis.
