Sabarimala Temple Visit: Online Registration Mandatory, Daily Visitors Capped at 80,000

The virtual queue system will allow pilgrims to select their travel routes at the time of booking, enabling them to choose less congested paths. Necessary facilities will be provided to devotees along the Kanana Path

Each year, lakhs of devotees visit Kerala’s Sabarimala Temple to seek the blessings of Lord Ayyappan, making reservations months in advance. Keeping the convenience of pilgrims in mind, authorities have now decided to make online registration mandatory for temple visit.

This decision was taken during a review meeting regarding the preparations for the Sabarimala Mandala Makaravilakku Mahotsavam, presided over by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. It has been decided that a maximum of 80,000 visitors will be allowed each day.

The virtual queue system will allow pilgrims to select their travel routes at the time of booking, enabling them to choose less congested paths. Necessary facilities will be provided to devotees along the Kanana Path. Special arrangements and improvements are being made for devotees visiting the Sabarimala Temple.

Parking Facilities and Travel Route Selection

It has been decided that if there is a need to control vehicle movement during peak hours, specific centres will be identified, and the necessary infrastructure will be established.

Additional parking facilities are being developed at Nilakkal and Erumeli. The repair work of roads and parking areas leading to Sabarimala are expected to be completed soon.

Health Check-ups and Guest House Facility

It has been decided that health check-ups and necessary training will be conducted for Vishuddhi Sena personnel. The maintenance work of the Sabari Guest House is set to be completed by the 31st of this month. The renovation of the Pranavam Guest House has already been finalised.

Meeting Attended By

In the meeting, Devaswom Department Minister V.N. Vasavan, Chief Secretary Sharada Muraleedharan, Kerala DGP Shaikh Darvesh Saheb, ADGPs Manoj Abraham and S. Sreejith, Devaswom Special Secretary T.V. Anupama, Pathanamthitta District Collector S. Prem Krishnan, Devaswom Board President P.S. Prashant, along with other concerned officers were present.
