Preparing For TNPSC Group 2 Exams? Keep These Tips In Mind

Aspirants had begun preparation for TNPSC Group 2 exams months ago.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is a government body of Tamil Nadu, which is responsible for the recruitment of candidates for various state government jobs through competitive examinations. Lakhs of young people begin preparing for TNPSC to secure a job as government officials. With this in mind, they begin studying for the competitive exams. One of the major exams is the Group 2 exam, which is scheduled for September 14 this year. Many aspirants had begun preparation for TNPSC Group 2 exams months ago. Now, with just four days remaining, here are a few tips from Sukesh Samuel, the founder of Suresh Academy. He has shared a few valuable tips on time management, which is the most crucial aspect of any competitive exam. After all, the main goal is to make sure that the candidate does not waste time and can end the paper on or before time. One can know the answer to all questions, but it is important to know how much time one should invest in every question. So, remember these important points before you take the exam.

Sukesh Samuel said, “Time management is important for the exam. So, utilise your time wisely. As soon as you receive the question paper, don’t read all the questions immediately. If you encounter a question you don’t know the answer to, it can create anxiety and cause you to forget answers to other questions, wasting valuable time. Read only the section you choose to attempt first.”

He further urged candidates to start with the Language Section. He advised that under this section, one should answer the questions they know well, first, and then move on to the next set of questions. Candidates should attempt the unsure questions at last, as per him. He further said that the same pattern should be followed for every section. According to him, the Language Section should be allocated an hour.

Sukesh Samuel added that the next focus should be on shading the answers. In the Group 2 Exam, shading the correct answers is important because there are chances of shading the wrong question. To avoid this, keep a ruler handy, align it with the question correctly and answer it. Mentally, repeat the answer while shading to avoid mistakes.

After tackling the language section, he recommends answering the Aptitude questions as leaving it for the end may leave one with less time in hand. Students must make sure to allocate just 45 minutes to answer the questions in this section.

Just like every other exam, it is important to look confident. Approaching a question with confidence will help you solve the papers with ease and less anxiety. Generally, in competitive exams, about 50 percent of the questions will be familiar, while the other 30 percent might be revised. So, if one can cover these, it means 80 percent of the question paper is solved. The remaining 20 percent might be unfamiliar and confidence will help one sail through these challenging questions as well.

He suggests reading every question carefully. The questions are written in Tamil and English. This will help in a thorough understanding of the question.
