The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has recently released recruitment for 1031 apprenticeships. PGCIL is a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise (PSE) of the Government of India. Application for this has started from August 20. The last date for applications is September 8.
For an apprenticeship in PGCIL, one must have done ITI/diploma/graduation. Apprenticeship recruitment will be done for various posts, including electrician, civil engineer, executive, assistant, and Rajbhasha Sahayak.
Eligibility for PGCIL Apprenticeship 2024:
Graduate (Electrical): BE/BTech/BSc in Electrical Engineering.
HR Executive, MBA HR/PG Diploma Personal Management or Personal Management and Industrial Relation.
ITI Electrician: Candidates must have done ITI in the electrician trade.
Diploma (Electrical): Must have done a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

How to Apply:
Step 01: Go to powergrid.in.
Step 02: Click on the “Careers” tab in the menu bar and select “Engagement of Apprentices.”
Step 03: Browse through the list of notifications for all PGCIL zones.
Step 04: Depending on your qualification, register at either apprenticeship.gov.in or nats.education.gov.in.
Step 05: After registration, click on the apply online link on the PGCIL website.
Step 06: Complete the form with the necessary details and upload the required documents.
Step 07: Once everything is filled out and uploaded, submit your application.
Selection Process:
The selection process for PGCIL Apprentice 2024 is merit-based, focusing on the academic qualifications of the candidates. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:
- Merit List Preparation: The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam relevant to the post.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification to ensure the authenticity of their submitted documents.
- Medical Examination: Finally, candidates who pass the document verification will undergo a medical examination to confirm their fitness for the role.
