On Independence Day, 1,037 Police Personnel Across India Receive Gallantry Awards

On the occasion of Independence Day, it has been announced that 5 policemen of Bihar Police will be given the Gallantry awards.

Gallantry awards have been announced on Independence Day. It includes names of IPS to DSP from many states. It includes the names of two DSPs from UP, Bihar’s IPS officer Sanjay Singh and DSP Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who are currently working as ADG Law and Order. Apart from these, five other policemen have also been nominated for the award. Similarly, awards have been announced for two DSPs of UP, Vimal Kumar Singh and Navendu Kumar. Both these names came into the limelight when they killed Atiq Ahmed’s son, Asad in an encounter.

On the occasion of Independence Day, it has been announced that five policemen of Bihar Police will be given the gallantry awards. At the same time, it has been announced to give the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) to two police officers of Bihar Police. Apart from this, 16 policemen have been given the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM). The recipients of the gallantry awards include one sub-inspector and four constables. Ashish Kumar Singh has received the gallantry awards posthumously. Durgesh Kumar Yadav, Rohit Kumar Ranjan, Akshay Kumar and Vijendra Kumar have also received the gallantry awards. Apart from these, ADG Law and Order Sanjay Singh and DSP Rajesh Kumar Sharma have received the

Public Service Medal (PSM) Award. The PSM Award is the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.

A total of 1,037 police personnel were awarded police medals on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day. The Central government on Wednesday announced 1,037 medals for police, fire, prison, home guard and civil defence personnel of Central and state police forces on the eve of Independence Day. Out of 208 gallantry awards, 52 have been awarded to the personnel deployed in left-wing extremist areas, 31 in the Jammu and Kashmir region and 17 to those from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
