In a shocking incident, a young man was robbed of Rs 3.43 lakh from his account which did not have any balance. The victim has been identified as Kamlesh Kumar. He lived in a village of the Jhajha police station area in Bihar’s Jamui.

Kumar has informed the police station about this incident and has demanded action. According to Kumar, his mobile phone was stolen and then the transaction was done from his account.

Kumar said that on August 5, while he was returning home in Raxaul-Howrah Mithila Express, two-three miscreants snatched his phone as soon as the train reached the Jhajha railway station.

Kumar informed Jhajha GRP about the incident and returned home. He works as a driver in West Bengal’s Bardhaman and did not have enough money in his account.

A few days later, Kumar bought a new phone and logged into his bank account with his email. When he checked his bank statement for September, he came to know about this fraud.

Kumar informed that the fraud took place even though he had blocked his SIM card after his phone was stolen. He said that his Aadhaar card and bank account were linked to the same number.

Kumar has his bank account in State Bank of India’s Jhajha branch. According to his bank statement from September, a transaction of Rs 3,43,803 was done from his account till September 4. It also came to light that the criminals first made a transaction of Rs 1 and then withdrew this amount.

Jhajha police station SHO Sanjay Kumar said that he has been informed about the cyber theft and the police are investigating the case. He said that cyber criminals usually use the accounts of innocent people so that they do not get noticed by the police.
