NMC Directs PG Medical Colleges To Submit Annual Self-declaration By Oct 31 As Per PGMEB-2023 Guidelines

PGMEB-2023 emphasizes the importance of producing scholars who are capable of delivering high-quality care while maintaining the highest standards of ethical and professional responsibilities.

Medical colleges and institutions are mandated to submit an Annual Self-Declaration as per the guidelines outlined in the Post-graduate Medical Education Board, 2023 (PGMEB-2023). These regulations provide a comprehensive framework for postgraduate medical education, focusing on cultivating medical professionals who not only excel in academic and clinical skills but also address the healthcare needs of the community.

PGMEB-2023 emphasizes the importance of producing scholars who are capable of delivering high-quality care while maintaining the highest standards of ethical and professional responsibilities. This annual declaration ensures that institutions comply with these standards, fostering the continuous improvement and accountability of postgraduate medical education programmes.

As per the notification published by the National Medical Commission, it states, “After its establishment, the medical college or medical institution is obligated to furnish an Annual Disclosure Report to the corresponding Board, satisfying such conditions provided under the notified MSRs by UGMEB or PGMEB and regulations of NMC, as the case may be.”

All medical colleges and institutions offering postgraduate (PG) medical courses are required to submit an Annual Disclosure Report for each PG course they conduct. This report is a critical component of maintaining transparency and compliance with educational standards.

The Annual Disclosure Report is divided into two sections, each focusing on different aspects of the medical programmes:

— Standard Assessment Form Part-A (Institutional Information common for all PG Specialties)

— Standard Assessment Form Part-B (Broad/ Super Specialty).

The Annual Declaration Report for postgraduate (PG) medical courses must be submitted online via the designated link available on the homepage. The forms are available on the NMC’s website — nmc.org.in.

All medical colleges and institutes offering postgraduate (PG) medical courses are instructed to complete the necessary forms and submit them along with the required fee of Rs. 50,000 plus 18 per cent GST for each PG course. This must be done through the designated NMC portal, which will remain open until October 31, 2024. Institutions are strongly urged to ensure that their Annual Declaration Report is submitted by this deadline, that is, no later than October 31, 2024.
