Two teachers from Bihar have been selected for the National Teachers Award, one of them is from Madhubani and the other is from Kaimur, Dr. Meenakshi Kumar of Shiv Ganga Girls Intermediate College
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, 50 teachers from across the country will be given the National Teachers Award. These awards will be distributed on September 5 by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony to be held at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi. The list of awardees also includes two teachers from Bihar and one from Jharkhand. While one of the teachers teaches Sanskrit, another teaches at a primary school. One of the teachers from Bihar has also equipped his school with modern facilities. Let’s take a look.
Among the two teachers from Bihar who have been selected for the National Teachers Award, one is from Madhubani and the other is from Kaimur. Dr Meenakshi Kumar teaches at Shiv Ganga Girls Intermediate College in Madhubani. While Sikendra Kumar Suman is the in-charge headmaster of the New Primary School of Kaimur district. Only 52 children study in Sikendra Kumar’s school. The school is equipped with CCTV cameras and has automatic bells. The school features smart classrooms. Weekly exams are conducted online and their results are also released online. Sikendra Kumar has studied up to 12th from Kendriya Vidyalaya and completed his graduation from Kashi Hindu University.
Dr. Asha Rani who has been selected for the National Teachers Award 2024 is a resident of Bokaro, Jharkhand. She teaches Sanskrit at an intermediate school from classes 9 to 12 in Chandankiyari. Dr Asha Rani said she is very happy to be selected for the National Teachers Award this year. She said that she did not know that she would be selected for the award. “I worked hard and now I am very happy with the results,” she said.
On the other hand, the headmaster of the Bhagesar Primary School in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh has also been selected for the National Teachers’ Awards 2024. Headmaster Ravikant Dwivedi has implemented new methods to make education more engaging for the students including building a mathematics garden to teach mathematics funnily.
