Mumbai Metro-3 Running, But How To Reach BKC From Borivali West? Here’s A 3-Step Guide On Route & Fares

The Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey Stretch of Metro-3 – the aqua line – was thrown open to public on October 7, giving the much-needed relief to Mumbai’s officegoers. This means, a Mumbaiite can travel from Borivali West to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) using the Metro trains.

Some, however, are still confused, considering the names of locations do not match that of railway stations or areas on road they pass through.

Don’t worry! Here’s your guide on how to travel the distance using Mumbai Metro.

STEP 1: KNOW YOUR LINES, SEE THE STATIONS IN BOLD

METRO-2A

Metro Line 2A from Dahisar to D N Nagar is 18.6-km-long elevated corridor with 17 stations. It will help ease in traffic congestion on one of the busiest route (New Link Road) of Mumbai from Dahisar (E) to DN Nagar.

Stations: Dahisar (East), Anand Nagar, Kandarpada, Mandapeshwar-I C Colony, Eksar, Borivali (West), Pahadi Eksar, Kandivali (West), Dahanukarwadi, Valnai, Malad (West), Lower Malad, Pahadi Goregaon, Goregaon (West), Oshiwara, Lower Oshiwara, Andheri (West)

How to get ticket?

  • At the station counter by paying cash.
  • You can also book tickets online using Mumbai 1 App. Additionally, there is also an NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) transport card called SBI Mumbai 1 card. It is a kind of smart card that you can recharge and use directly at the metro station.
  • Through WhatsApp: You can simply send a ‘Hi’ to the dedicated WhatsApp number 86526 35500 or scan the #QRcode displayed at stations to purchase tickets via a conversational interface.

Timings

Its timings are 6am to 11 pm.

METRO-1

It is the elevated corridor connecting Versova, Andheri and Ghatkopar. It has an interchange with DN Nagar station, which connects to Andheri station on Western Railway and Ghatkopar station on Central Railway

Stations: Versova, D. N. Nagar, Azad Nagar, Andheri, Western Express Highway, Chakala, Airport Road, Marol Naka, Sakinaka, Asalpha Road, Jagruti Nagar, Ghatkopar.

How to get ticket?

  • At the counter
  • The website: https://www.reliancemumbaimetro.com/ticket-fares
  • Through WhatsApp: You can send “Hi" to 96700 08889 and click on the link sent by Mumbai Metro E-Ticketing in response.

Timings

5.30 am to 11.25 pm

METRO-3

The 12.69-kilometre stretch between Aarey Colony and BKC is part of the 33.5-kilometre Colaba-Seepz-Aarey Metro line 3, which received the final clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) earlier this week.

Stations:BKC, Bandra Colony, Santacruz, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) T1, Sahar Road, CSMIA T 2, Marol Naka, Andheri, SEEPZ and Aarey Colony JVLR, which is the only station at grade.

  • Mumbai Metro-3 app

Timings

Regular service of Mumbai Metro-3 runs daily from 6.30 am to 10:30 pm (Monday to Saturday) and on Sundays from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm.

STEP 2: FROM BORIVALI WEST TO BKC

  • Take Metro-2A from Borivali West and get off at Andheri West.
  • Change over to Metro-1’s DN Nagar station.
  • Using Metro-1, travel towards Ghatkopar and get off at Marol Naka.
  • Change over to the underground Metro-3 and head to BKC.

STEP 3: THINGS TO REMEMBER

Fares: Borivali West to Andheri West: Rs 30; DN Nagar station to Marol Naka: Rs 30; Marol Naka to BKC: Rs 80

TheMumbai Metro app allows passengers to buy tickets, recharge smart cards, and check the schedule and fares of the trains. The app also offers other features, such as a route planner and real-time updates on train timings. Same goes for Mumbai Metro-3 app. Check the WhatsApp options for Metro-2A and Metro-1

In case ofMetro-3, online payment is not accepted at the counter, please carry cash. Also, as Metro-3 is underground, you may not be able to access the app smoothly once inside. Please get your ticket before you enter.
