Meet Pinki Haryan, The Dharamsala Doctor Who Once Used To Beg On The Streets

Pinky Haryan's story shows how perseverance, hard work and support can fundamentally alter people's lives.

It’s been said that where there is darkness in life, there will eventually be light. There will be a wonderful time as well. Pinki Haryan’s inspirational story is a truly motivational narrative of a lady who overcame terrible poverty, worked hard to alter her station in life and became a doctor, amid the sea of ‘inspirational’ stories we come across daily. Pinki surmounted almost insurmountable hurdles to become a doctor and is currently getting ready to pass the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) to obtain a license to begin her practice in India. Before becoming a doctor, Pinki was begging on the streets of Mcleodganj and scrounging for food from garbage bins.

Pinki Haryan Career

Pinki (Pinki Haryan) was accepted into Dayanand Public School in Dharamshala at Jamyang’s insistence. Her parents, particularly her father Kashmiri Lal, later permitted her to pursue her studies even though they had not first supported her decision to become a teacher. Pinki was given a room in the benevolent trust’s dormitory, where she began her journey towards education. She put her academics first to escape poverty.

Her dedication to her studies paid off. She was able to pass both the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) and the Senior Secondary Examination. PTI claims that she was unable to gain admission because private medical colleges had expensive tuition. In 2018, she was able to secure admission to a prominent medical institution in China for the MBBS program thanks to the support of the Tong-Lan Charity Trust. The path to becoming a physician Following her MBBS, Pinky went back to Dharamshala to get ready for the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE), which she needs to pass to become a doctor in India.

Pinky, also known as Pinki Haryan, talked about her difficult journey and how, despite her lack of knowledge at the time, she had dreamed of being a doctor since she was a young child. The crucial role played by Jamyang Pinky attributes her accomplishments to Lobsang Jamyang, who not only cleared the path for her schooling but also provided unwavering support. According to Jamyang, kids should be motivated to grow up to be decent people rather than just perceived as money-making machines.

Pinky Haryan’s story shows how perseverance, hard work and support can fundamentally alter people’s lives. She is now regarded as an inspiration to others and a role model for individuals facing adversity and poverty.
