Meet Krishna Teja, The Guntur IAS Lauded For Service During Covid And Kerala Floods

Krishna Teja has worked in many software companies before cracking the civil services exam.

IAS Officer Mylavarapu Krishna Teja has been in the headlines for quite some time for receiving the National Commission For Protection of Child Rights Award. Krishna Teja, hailing from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, is a graduate of the Computer Science field. According to the IAS officer’s LinkedIn profile, he secured his engineering degree in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh in 2009. Krishna Teja has worked in many software companies before cracking the civil services exam. Now, Krishna Teja will also be the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of Pawan Kalyan, Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given his nod for the appointment of the Kerala cadre IAS officer. The state government has also requested the centre to depute Krishna Teja to Andhra Pradesh services as a special case.

Personal Life

Krishna Teja’s father and grandfather are businessmen and are also known for their social service initiatives. The Kerala cadre IAS officer tied the nuptial knot with Chartered Accountant Raga Deepa of Vijayawada and has two children. He is currently a native of Chilakaluripet district, Palnadu city, Andhra Pradesh.

Social initiatives and accolades

Krishna Teja played an important role as the sub-collector of the Alleppey municipality, Kerala during the 2018 Kerala floods. During this time, he planned Operation Kuttanadu to evacuate about 2.5 Lakh people in 48 hours. The Kerala cadre-based IAS officer later mobilised funds for the rehabilitation of the flood victims through the I Am for Alleppey campaign. Pawan Kalyan congratulated Krishna Teja, on being selected for the National Child Rights Commission Award, and lauded his efforts to alleviate poverty in society. “The dedication shown by IAS officer Krishna Teja in serving people during the Covid-19 pandemic and Kerala floods will not be forgotten by the Keralites,” Pawan Kalyan said. He wished that Krishna Teja achieved more such awards and would continue to be a role model for the youth.

In the past, Krishna Teja has currently worked as a district collector in the Thrissur district of Kerala. Thrissur district was adjudged as the best district in the country for child rights protection.
