Meet IPS Kamya Mishra, Who Resigned After Just 5 Years Of Service

Initially, IPS Kamya Mishra was allotted the Himachal cadre, but she was later transferred to the Bihar cadre.

Kamya Mishra, recognised as a sharp IPS officer from Bihar, recently resigned from her services, stirring a lot of discussions. She gained attention when she was assigned to investigate the high-profile Jeetan Sahni murder case in Bihar, where she made several significant revelations. Currently, she is serving as the Darbhanga Rural SP in Bihar.

IPS Kamya Mishra submitted her resignation to the Bihar Police Headquarters. Notably, she has decided to resign after just five years of service. Kamya Mishra is an IPS officer from the 2019 batch.

Kamya was one of the youngest UPSC aspirants to crack the exam, hitting the bull’s eye just at the age of 22. She secured the 172nd rank in the UPSC CSE exam. Her educational prowess is evident as she cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt, successfully passing the prelims, mains, and interview stages to become an IPS officer. Initially, Kamya was allotted the Himachal cadre, but she was later transferred to the Bihar cadre.

Before passing the UPSC exam, Kamya Mishra achieved an impressive 98% in her 12th-grade exams, becoming the regional topper with a score of 98.6%. She continued her education in Delhi, enrolling at Lady Shriram College, where she completed her graduation. During her time at Lady Shriram College, Kamya not only focused on her undergraduate studies but also prepared for the civil services exam. Her dedication and hard work paid off as she cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt, securing the 172nd rank and ultimately becoming an IPS officer. Kamya’s journey is a testament to her academic excellence and commitment to her goals.

Kamya Mishra has stepped down from her position as an IAS or IPS officer. After only five years in the job, she has chosen to resign, citing personal and family reasons. She mentioned that the decision was difficult, but she felt compelled to leave because she could not dedicate enough time to her family.
