Lottery Dream Comes True For Siliguri’s Lakshmi Roy After She Wins Rs 1 Crore

Lakshmi Roy, who had always dreamed of winning the lottery, lived with her husband, a carpenter.

A twist of fortune occurred in Siliguri when a family from the Bolaijhora area in Kharibari suddenly became millionaires amidst their financial struggles. Lakshmi Roy, who had always dreamed of winning the lottery, lived with her husband who worked as a carpenter.

Against the backdrop of their modest means, Lakshmi nurtured the hope of winning big one day. That day arrived when she purchased a lottery ticket for just Rs 60 from a shop near her home and won the first prize of Rs 1 crore.

Upon discovering her win, Lakshmi and her family were ecstatic, feeling as though Fortune had walked into their home overnight. Initially fearful, Lakshmi kept the news to herself before finally handing the ticket over to the police for security reasons and sharing her joy with others. She plans to use her money to build a house and secure her family’s future. The lottery seller, Mrityunjoy Sarkar, whose shop is located in Kalibari, expressed his happiness for Lakshmi, a regular customer, on her life-changing win.

In another incident, a British man was heartbroken after being told he misread the lottery app. Mark Fletcher thought his life had changed after he got the numbers right but misunderstood the way the Lotto app worked.

When he called the app customer support to inform them about his win, the representative told him the winner was someone who bought the lottery ticket. Simply selecting a number on the app was not enough.

Recalling the disappointing phone call with customer support, Mark Fletcher told The Metro, “When I rang them up to check, I was on the phone for 45 minutes, and the woman was adamant I wasn’t a winner. Then I asked why it was telling me I’d won and if there was a fault with the app, and they denied that also. I felt as if I were being put under a lie detector. She kept saying, “You haven’t bought that ticket, have you, Mark?”
