The whole country is engulfed in protest against the brutal rape and murder of a Kolkata doctor in RG Kar Hospital. Citizens are demanding strict action and justice for the late victim. Local18 reports about a protest display, which took place in Sealdah, West Bengal. It states that the protestors covered themselves in paint to show solidarity to the murdered victim. As per the reports, the protest took place inside a local train, which was returning from Sealdah at 8:14 in the evening. It was carried out by the passengers in the coach, which is reported to have been heavily crowded. One of the protesters named Tarak Das, an artist, painted his hands to symbolise the brutal crime.

The protest was being done to demand severe and immediate punishment to all those involved in the heinous crime. One of the protestors coated himself from head to toe in paint, depicting the victim’s condition. He carried a poster stating, “We want justice.”
Tarak Das, who is a resident of Madhyamgram, conversed with Local18 about the situation. According to him, not only the women and doctors have taken to the streets to demand justice, but the daily commuters from local trains have also been involved for the same. The passengers further demanded that the real story behind the whole case must come to light. Images from the protests are making rounds on social media.
An exclusive video of the protests was shared by Local18, which captured some of the main members of the demonstration. The members covered in paint went around the train to give momentum to the protest.
As per the reports, the crime occurred on August 9 at the RG Kar Hospital. The days that followed saw medical organisations organising strikes and protests to demand justice and stricter safety rules for female medical professionals.
