Kerala’s Fabi Rasheed Cracks UPSC On Her First Attempt, Ranks AIR 71

She pursued an integrated BS-MS course in Biological Sciences from the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research.

Every year thousands of students appear for the UPSC examination out of which very few people crack the examination. Today we will talk about one such candidate named Fabi Rasheed who recently cracked the country’s toughest examination. Born on June 23, 1999, she achieved this impressive milestone at just the of 25. She dreamt of being a civil services officer since her childhood. Fabi Rasheed was born in Alappuzha, Kerala. Both of her parents are doctors. Her mother is a paediatrician, who recently got retired while her father is an Ayurvedic specialist. Fabi pursued her education up to 12th grade from Sarvodaya Central Vidyalaya, Trivandrum. She was an excellent student since her childhood days. In the 10th grade, she scored 96.7 per cent while in the 12th grade, she scored 97.6 per cent. Following her schooling, she pursued an integrated BS-MS course in Biological Sciences from the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research.

The girl from Kerala completed her college studies in 2022. Soon after that, she started the preparation for the UPSC examination. For better preparation, Fabi took UPSC coaching at an institute in Thiruvananthapuram. This helped her to understand the basics and crack the examination. According to media reports, she cracked the examination on her first attempt itself. She secured the rank of 71 in the UPSC exam 2023. The journey was not easy for her as she experienced frequent anxiety attacks during the preparation. She successfully got out of all such health issues to make her dream come true.

In a conversation, Fabi Rasheed mentioned that she was inspired by a family member. She said that when she was aged 14, the family member cracked the examination and joined the civil services as an IAS officer which highly inspired her. At that young age, she decided that she would join the services in the future. Her parents and close relatives were filled with joy after the results came out.
