Karimnagar District Collector Launches ‘Friday Sabha’ To Address Women Issues

The District Collector has mentioned that women can present whatever issues they are facing at this Friday Sabha and their applications will be accepted after the meeting.

To address the problems women are facing in Karimnagar, Telangana, the District Collector has introduced a unique solution which will create a platform for women to meet and discuss their issues. The Friday Sabha is where all women-related issues will be solved. This is being introduced in the district by District Collector Pamela Satpathy.

The District Collector has mentioned that women can present whatever issues they are facing at this Friday Sabha and their applications will be accepted after the meeting. She even urged pregnant and new mothers to be a part of the Friday Sabha. Such meetings would provide a sense of community and belongingness along with mental encouragement to the women.

Apart from homemakers and working women, it would also include government machinery staff like Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANMs), Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Anganwadi Staff, who will be attending these Friday Sabha meetings. This will result in immediate solutions to the problems raised. The District Collector, Pamela Satpathy, further encouraged women to take the opportunity and get 50 types of health tests that cost about Rs 45,000 each, which will be conducted through the Arogya Mahila Program for all the women in the district.

Pamela Sathpathy also has been stressing the importance of health and medical check-ups for women. She urged women to undergo health check-ups every three months to detect and prevent life-threatening diseases that can be caught early on. For pregnant mothers, she recommended undergoing sugar, blood pressure and liver function tests. These tests are available at all the government hospitals and primary health centres. This can also help in reducing maternal mortality.

Meanwhile, in Karimnagar, the Anganwadi Centres are also conducting various programs to develop children’s creativity alongside their primary education that is at par with private schools. The District Collector mentioned that the Friday Sabha will kick off soon.

The District Collector of Karimnagar is known for her initiatives for the welfare of her people. Recently, she distributed free shoes to school children that will greatly benefit the kids.
