The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will close the online reporting and fee payment option for JoSAA Round 1 counselling today, June 25. Candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round and have not yet registered must complete the process by logging onto josaa.nic.in. They need to pay the required fee and upload supporting documents by 5 p.m. today.
The official notice reads, “It is mandatory to pay the seat acceptance fee for those candidates, who got the seat in JoSAA 2024 Round 1. Failure to pay the seat acceptance fee by the deadline will lead to cancellation of the provisionally allotted seat and the candidate will not be considered for the seat allocation in the subsequent rounds.”
On June 20, the first round of admissions was made available for the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and other government-funded technical colleges. All selected candidates must register online to guarantee their seats following the outcomes of the seat distribution process.
According to the official notice, candidates who were given a seat in Round 1 are required to upload their documentation for validation. The candidate’s seat will be cancelled by the authority if the necessary documents are not uploaded by the deadline of June 24, 2024, by 5 PM, even if they have already paid the “Seat Acceptance Fee” using the prepayment option.
It is to be noted that the candidates who were given seats in the first round of the JoSAA will not be given seats in the subsequent rounds if they do not upload the required documentation by the deadline.
JOSAA Counselling 2024: Important Dates
-Round 1 deadline for fee payment: June 24.
-Solving candidate’s payment issues: June 25.
-The final day to reply to the inquiry (Round 1): June 26.
-JoSAA round 2 seat aloocation : June 27.
– Fee payment and online reporting deadline – July 1.
This year, there will be five rounds of the JoSAA counselling. On June 27, the results of the second round of seat allocation will be made public. The 3rd, 4th and 5th merit lists will be announced on July 4th, 10th and 17th respectively.
There will also be two rounds of counselling by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) for the remaining seats in the NIT system (seats of NITs, IIITs, IIEST, and other GFTIs) following the completion of all JoSAA counselling rounds. The Counselling for CSAB will take place from July 17 to July 24.
