Jammu & Kashmir Election 2024 Results: NC-Congress To Form Govt, Check Party-wise Tally

The National Conference and Congress alliance is set to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir as both combined cross the halfway mark.

The National Conference and Congress alliance is set to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir as both combined cross the halfway mark with 48 seats. While the Farooq Abdullah-led NC scored 42, the Congress settled with six.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) meanwhile, won 29, with the majority of its gains from the Jammu region where Congress faced massive setbacks. This election established the first elected government in the UT since 2019 when Article 370 was abrogated.

On the other hand, the Mehbooba Mufti-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met with disappointment as the party bagged victory on three seats out of the 90 seats it contested. The People Conference, CPI(M) and Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP registered victory on one seat each. Independents outperformed several parties with victory on seven seats in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election 2024.
