Indian-Origin Startup CEO Promises Free Visa To Any Country If Neeraj Chopra Wins Gold In Paris Olympics

The Paris Olympics 2024 is proving to be a success for India. The hockey team recently ended a 52-year wait by defeating Australia, Manu Bhaker secured two bronze medals in shooting and Swapnil Kusale won bronze in the 50m rifle. Now, all eyes are on Neeraj Chopra, who is gearing up to defend his gold medal in javelin. The athlete will compete in the Men’s Javelin Throw event alongside Kishore Jena in the qualification round, scheduled for August 6. To boost the excitement, Mohak Nahta, CEO of Atlys, an online visa application service, has an offer that people can’t refuse.

The entrepreneur promised to give free visas to their users, anywhere in the world if Neeraj Chopra wins gold.

The offer sparked confusion after Nahta’s post about the free visa didn’t clarify how users could redeem it. Taking to LinkedIn, the Indian-origin CEO of the startup wrote, “On 30th July, I promised everyone a free visa if Neeraj Chopra wins gold. Since a lot of you asked for details, here is how it will work."

If Neeraj makes it through the qualification stage, he will participate in the grand final on August 8. If he bags gold, Atlys will provide every user a free one-day visa that requires no payment at all.

When asked what nations are covered by this, Nahta said, “All countries, choose wherever you want to travel to next." “What do you need to do to avail this offer? Drop your email in the comments below and we will create an account for you with a free visa credit," he added

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Here’s hoping Neeraj Chopra clinches the gold and Atlys delivers on its promise."

Another shared, “Nice marketing gimmick and people are just throwing their email in comments."

“Be wary of spammers. Petty marketing tactics that compromise data privacy by sharing personal information can lead to becoming a victim of cyber fraud. Let’s not encourage such practices," a comment read.

A user noted, “Business mind activated."

An Indian sports fan wrote, “I also want Neeraj to hit gold from the bottom of my heart, but what if… All these freebie fans are going to turn bitter for the lovely sportsman."

One more added, “It is definitely coming home."
