India Post has invited applications for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) across the different offices of the Department of Posts. The vacancies have been announced for the branch postmaster (BPM) and assistant branch postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevaks. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 44,228 vacancies. Important dates:
The application process has already started, and the last date to fill out the application is August 5, 2024. The students can edit the application from August 6 to August 8.
Age limit:
The minimum age to apply for these posts is 18 years, while the maximum age should not be more than 40 years. There is also a relaxation in age for the candidates belonging to the SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PWD, PwD + OBC, and PwD + SC/ST categories.
Salary:
The selected candidates will be paid between Rs 12,000 and Rs 29,380 for the branch postmaster, while the assistant branch postmaster will be paid between Rs 10,000 and Rs 24,470.
Educational Qualification:
The students should have passed the Class 10 Secondary School Examination with Mathematics and English from any school education board recognized by the Government of India/State Governments/Union Territories in India will be mandatory for all accepted categories of GDS.
The applicant should have studied the local language at least up to the 10th Standard from a recognized board. The student can check the official notification for detailed information.

Application Fee:
The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 100 for all posts notified in their choice of division. The payment of the fee is exempt for all female, SC/ST, PwD and transwomen applicants.
