‘India Has Made It To Top 5…’, China Acknowledges India’s Manufacturing Boom

India is moving towards becoming the manufacturing hub of the world. Neighbour China also seems to have accepted that India is now becoming a major power in manufacturing.

China’s official newspaper Global Times shared a list of the world’s top 10 countries in manufacturing output. India ranks fifth in that list.

Interestingly, the Global Times has specifically mentioned India in its post shared on the social media platform ‘X’.

#China remains the world’s manufacturing powerhouse.#India has made it to the top 5 with a manufacturing value added of $456 billion.#FactsMatter#GTGraphic@_ValiantPanda_pic.twitter.com/ZXL1z0v6xI

Global Times on Indian Economy

Global Times wrote in its post, “China remains the world’s manufacturing powerhouse. India has made it to the top 5 with a manufacturing value added of $456 billion.”

Global Times has prepared this list based on World Bank data.

The tone of Global Times, which has always been critical of India, has softened towards India for some time and slowly but surely, now China has started considering India as a power in the world.

China on top in manufacturing

China tops the Global Times list in manufacturing output with $4659 billion. The post said America stands in second place with a manufacturing output of 2497 billion dollars.

Germany is in third place with $845 billion, Japan is in fourth place with $818 billion and India is in fifth place with $456 billion.

South Korea is ranked sixth on this list, Mexico is ranked seventh, Italy is eighth, France is ninth and Brazil is tenth.

India is a rapidly growing power in the world

The clash between Indian and Chinese armies in Galwan and India’s tough stance towards China after that has forced China to become ‘soft’.

Even in January 2024, China’s official newspaper Global Times openly praised India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was said in an article in Global Times that India is the fastest-growing power in the world. The article highlighted India’s achievements in the last four years, highlighting India’s strong economic growth, improvements in urban governance and changes in its approach to international relations, especially with China.
