In UP, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha And Wife Rashmi Rani Become IPS Officers Together

In 1996, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha was chosen to join the Uttar Pradesh Police as a PPS officer.

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has announced the promotion list for PPS (Provincial Police Service) officers in the state, with 24 officers being elevated. Among the names, two stand out as particularly surprising- Chiranjeev Nath Sinha and Rashmi Rani. Chiranjeev and Rashmi are husband and wife, and both have been promoted together. They will now serve as IPS (Indian Police Service) officers in the state.

Originally from Patna, Bihar, Chiranjiv Nath Sinha is currently an IPS officer after serving as a PPS officer in the Uttar Pradesh Police. As per the details provided on the UP Police website, he was born on January 20, 1973. Following his BA, Chiranjiv completed an MBA and a Diploma in International Trade Management. In 1996, he was chosen to join the Uttar Pradesh Police as a PPS officer.

On June 30, 1998, he was appointed to the UP Police after completing PPS officer training. His confirmation date was May 20, 2000. He was elevated to the position of Additional SP in 2014. Following this, he was promoted to the position of Additional SP Special Grade 2 in 2021. He was promoted to Additional SP Special Grade 1 on June 7, 2024 of this year. At the moment, he is employed at Barabanki as an Additional SP.

Chiranjiv Nath’s wife, Rashmi Rani is from Prayagraj. Following her primary schooling, she completed an MA in Sanskrit. After passing the UPPSC test in 1995, Rashmi Rani was appointed as a PPS officer. She was appointed to the UP Police, her spouse Chiranjiv Nath included. Not only that but on May 20, 2000, both were confirmed on the same day. November 11, 2014, saw her taking charge as Additional SP. Following this, she was promoted to Additional SP Special Grade 2 in 2020 and to Additional SP Special Grade 1 on June 7, 2024. Rashmi has now been promoted to the rank of IPS officer.
