In Another Train Derailment Attempt, Cement Blocks Placed On Track Near Rajasthan’s Ajmer

Later, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited and the Railway Protection Force jointly patrolled the area and found no suspicious activities nearby

Two cement blocks, weighing one quintal each, were found placed 1 km apart on railway tracks between Saradhana and Bangadh villages in Rajasthan’s Ajmer late on Sunday night. Two Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) officials quickly informed the police and helped avert derailment.

According to official sources and the first information report (FIR), the two DFCCIL employees, Ravi Bundela and Vishwajeet Das, filed an FIR as soon as they found out about the blocks at 10:36 pm and police reached the location in no time.

Upon arrival, police officials found two broken cement blocks placed at a distance of 1 km on the sides of the railway tracks.

Subsequently, DFCCIL and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) jointly patrolled the area and found no suspicious activities nearby.

The incident came to light hours after the Kalindi Express, travelling from Prayagraj to Bhiwani in Haryana, hit a gas cylinder placed on the track in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, but an accident was averted.

On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh Police detained nearly 12 people for questioning in connection with the case.

According to reports, the cylinder was thrown nearly 50 metres away due to the impact of the collision.

The cylinder was reportedly placed near the crossing of Munderi village between Barrajpur and Bilhaur stations on the Kanpur-Kasganj route.
