According to fish seller Ramakrishna, everyone here sustains their livelihood through fishing, as reported by Local 18. The process of fishing in Pothireddypadu is well-organized and systematic. The fishermen use traditional methods as well as modern techniques to catch the fish. Early in the morning, they set out in boats with their fishing gear, including nets and traps. The Pothireddypadu Dam provides a rich and diverse habitat for various fish species, making it an ideal location for fishing.
