Hindu College Shines In 2024 NIRF Rankings, Here’s A Look At Its Star Alumni

For many years, Miranda House at Delhi University held the top position in these rankings. However, the 2024 NIRF Rankings have brought a change, as Hindu College secured the top spot. Known for its long history and influence, the college has been a stepping stone for many successful individuals across different fields. Imtiaz Ali

The director behind hits like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar, Tamasha and the latest Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali is an alumnus of Hindu College. The filmmaker studied BA (Hons) in English and graduated in 1993. During his time at the college, Ali played a key role in founding the theater society Ibtida, which he refers to as his “longest running production.” After completing his studies, Ali moved to Mumbai, where he has become one of the leading filmmakers of his generation, as he brings his unique vision to life through the big screen.

Vishal Bhardwaj and Rekha Bhardwaj

Hindu College played a crucial role in bringing together well-known director Vishal Bhardwaj and talented singer Rekha Bhardwaj. Their romance began at the premises of this prestigious institution, where Vishal was studying Arts while Rekha, a year senior, was pursuing Music. Earlier this year, the couple returned to the college to celebrate its 125th anniversary.

Gautam Gambhir

After years of dedication and hard work, Gautam Gambhir now serves as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. His journey to this prestigious role began at Hindu College, where he pursued higher education after finishing his schooling at Delhi’s Modern School. Arjun Rampal

Born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Arjun Rampal took his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Hindu College.
