Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: Holiday Declared For Schools, Colleges For Two Days Ahead Of Polls

Polling for the Haryana assembly elections 2024 will be held in a single phase on October 5.

As the Haryana Assembly Election 2024 is scheduled to be on October 5, the state government has announced the closure of educational institutions for two days. All government, semi-government and private schools in Haryana will remain closed on October 4 and October 5. The decision has been taken to ensure a smooth election process. In case of any query, students are advised to get in touch with their school administration.

District administrations have issued written orders confirming the holiday in the constituency areas. Schools have been closed a day before the election to ensure necessary preparations, including the setup of ballot boxes, voting equipment and security arrangements. Moreover, the Directorate of Education, Haryana, has announced the postponement of exams scheduled for October 4 till October 9.

With a total of 90 assembly constituencies going to the polls, the Haryana assembly polls 2024 will be contested in a single phase on October 5 from 7 am to 6 pm. The results of the same will be announced on October 8. As per reports, there are around 2.1 crore registered voters in Haryana, out of which approximately 9.5 lakh are women and 4.52 lakh are first-time voters.
