‘Foul Smell Coming from Your Daughter’s Flat…’: Landlord’s Chilling Call to Bengaluru Woman’s Mother

The deceased, lived alone in a one-bedroom apartment in Bengaluru's Vyalikaval area, separated from her husband. Her body has been sent for post-mortem. The reports are awaited

After the body of a 29-year-old woman was found stuffed in her fridge, chopped into more than 30 pieces, in Bengaluru, her mother narrated that the landlord had called her up saying that a foul stench was coming for her daughter’s apartment.

“Her (Mahalakshmi) house owner had called us at night to inform us about a foul smell coming from the house. My daughter’s body was cut and stuffed inside the fridge,” an India Today report quoted the mother as saying.

The neighbours informed the landlord and the police after getting foul stench from her apartment owing to decomposition of the body.

The deceased, identified as Mahalakshmi, was residing at a one-bedroom apartment in Bengaluru’s Vyalikaval area. She was married, but was living away from her husband. According to PTI, Mahalakshmi’s husband came to the spot after he was informed about the incident.

According to the police, it is estimated that this murder must have happened two-three days back. Mahalakshmi’s body was sent for post-mortem on September 22. The investigation report is awaited.

Police said that when the woman’s family reached the apartment, they found insects crawling near the fridge. After opening the fridge, they ran out vomiting seeing the cut and rotten pieces of the body.
