Radhika Merchant is in vogue this season. The bride-to-be of the Ambani family has been hogging headlines for her sartorial choices and glittering smile during her pre-wedding festivities with Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and philanthropist Nita Ambani.
Radhika, the younger daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., and entrepreneur Shaila Merchant, is a political and economics graduate from New York University. She is also a Director at Encore Healthcare Private Limited.
But business is not Radhika’s only forte. She is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer who received her training under Guru Bhavan Thakar of Shree Nibha Arts dance academy of Mumbai.
Radhika’s ‘arangetram’ or ‘ascent to the stage’ in 2022 saw both the Ambani and Merchant families turn up in full strength along with their friends from the world of business, arts and entertainment.
Radhika will be the second Bharatnatyam proponent in the Ambani family after Nita Ambani, who is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and continues to perform despite her tremendous national and international responsibilities.
Anant and Radhika got engaged in a traditional ceremony in January 2023 at the family’s residence Antilia in Mumbai. They are set to tie the knot on July 12 this year after whirlwind pre-wedding festivities.
