Delhi Court Grants Bail To RJD’s Lalu Prasad, Sons In Land-for-jobs Case

Special Judge Vishal Gogne granted the relief to the accused persons on a personal bond of Rs one lakh each

The Rouse Avenue Court on Monday granted bail to RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and eight other accused, including his son Tej Pratap and Tejashwi Yadav, in the land-for-job scam.

Special Judge Vishal Gogne granted bail to them on bonds of Rs 1 lakh each, and noted that they were not arrested during the investigation of the case, news agency PTI reported.

The matter has been listed for the next hearing on October 25.

The accused appeared before the court in pursuance of a summon issued to them by the court earlier. The judge had issued the summon after taking cognisance of a supplementary charge sheet against the accused persons.

The final report was filed before the court by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 6. The ED filed its case based on an FIR lodged by the CBI in the case.

‘Our Victory Is Certain’: Tejashwi Yadav

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who was present in the Delhi court during the hearing of the matter, said that his family’s victory is certain and accused the ruling BJP of hatching a political conspiracy.

“They keep indulging in political conspiracy. They misuse agencies. There is nothing concrete in this case. Our victory is certain,” Tejashwi Yadav said.

The case pertains to Group-D appointments made in the West Central Zone of the railways based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh during Prasad’s tenure as railway minister from 2004 to 2009 in return for land parcels gifted or transferred by the recruits in the name of the RJD supremo’s family or associates, the ED said.
