A quick response by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, who administered CPR, saved the life of a passenger who suffered a cardiac arrest at Delhi’s IGI Airport on Tuesday.
The passenger, identified as Arshid Ayoub, was preparing to board a flight to Srinagar from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport when he suddenly collapsed on the floor.
A video of the incident shows Ayoub collapsing inside the airport. A two-member Quick Reaction Team (QRT) of the CISF, upon witnessing the collapse, immediately intervened, with one member performing CPR on him.

CPR is a critical emergency procedure used to revive individuals whose breathing and heartbeat have stopped. It involves chest compressions to maintain blood circulation and rescue breaths to provide oxygen to the lungs.
According to a CISF official, Ayoub was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in the national capital and is now reported to be stable.
“A precious life was saved due to alertness and prompt action by the CISF personnel,” the official said.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is tasked to provide a counter-terrorist security cover to the IGI airport.
