‘Canada Trying To Please Khalistanis’: Intel Sources On Why Indian Diplomat Was Named Person of Interest | Exclusive

"The RCMP, which is investigating the case in a neutral way, has not given any evidence of Indian involvement. However, Trudeau wants the RCMP to give favourable results to nail India,” said top intelligence sources

Naming Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma as person of interest in an investigation, without naming the case, is a desperate attempt of the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau-led government to please the Khalistanis in the country and show they are doing everything possible against India, said top intelligence sources. A person of interest means a suspect who is not arrested.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Monday strongly rejected the Trudeau government’s claims, calling them “preposterous imputations” and saying these activities “serve the political agenda of the current regime”. India has also withdrawn its High Commissioner and Diplomats from Canada.

Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed by unidentified gunmen outside a Gurdwara in Surrey, Canada, on June 18, 2023. Sources said, for the past one year, India has been asking for evidence in the case related to the killing, but has got no response in black and white from Canada.

“The Trudeau government is a minority government and will fall next year when new bills come to Parliament. Their investigation agency Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested Sikh youths who were suggesting that Nijjar was killed in a gang war. So far, the RCMP, which is investigating the case in a neutral way, has not given any evidence of Indian involvement. However, Trudeau wants the RCMP to give favourable results to nail India,” said sources.

“Due to political compulsions they are risking diplomatic relationship with India,” sources added.

Canada is becoming the hub of gangsters and Khalistani goons and criminals who are given shelter, visa and citizenship on fast-track basis.

“The Indian government is clear that the Trudeau government is not cooperating on many extradition requests we made. On a daily basis, Sikh for Justice’s (SFJ) Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has been threatening Indian diplomats on social media and running illegal activities in India, including killings,” said sources.

India-Canada ties soured after Trudeau last September said that Ottawa was “actively pursuing credible allegations” that Indian agents were potentially linked to the killing of Nijjar. New Delhi had rejected the allegations and asked Ottawa to furnish proof.
