BSEB Postpones Bihar TET 2024 Exam, New Dates to be Declared Soon

Bihar TET 2024: In an official notification, the board said that the decision to postpone the test was taken because two exams were clashing on the same date.

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has indefinitely postponed the Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2024. The Bihar TET 2024, originally scheduled to be held between June 26 and June 28, will now be held later. In an official notification, the board said that the decision to postpone the test was taken because two exams were clashing on the same date. The Bihar Public Service Commission has also scheduled exams on June 28 and June 29, for the recruitment of headmasters.

The board further stated that revised exam dates for the examination will be declared on the official website, secondary.biharboardonline.com. The Bihar TET is an eligibility test conducted by BSEB for teaching candidates at primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools in Bihar. Employed teachers gain the status of state employees only after passing this test

“Hereby, in the order of Release No. PR 238/2024, in the context of Rule 4 of Bihar School Special Teacher Rules, 2023, teacher candidates appearing in the Competency Test of Local Body Teachers, 2024 (Second), all District Education Officers, all District Program Officers (Establishment), and all concerned are informed that the Competency Test, 2024 (Second) to be held in both the shifts from June 26 to June 28 is postponed due to unavoidable reasons. 2. The date of the conduct of the said examination will be published later,” read an official notification of BSEB published originally in Hindi.

Talking about the exam pattern, the Bihar TET 2024 will be held online for a total of 150 marks. The test will consist of two papers, namely Paper 1 (class 9–10) and Paper 2 (class 11–12). Both papers will consist of two sections: a specified subject and pedagogy and other skills. The MCQ-based test will be held for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, the postponement of the Bihar TET comes against the backdrop of recent incidents of exam paper leaks, notably affecting the UGC NET and NEET UG 2024.
