Bihar Flavour in Haryana Elections: Tej Pratap Campaigns for ‘Jeeja’ Chiranjeev Rao

Chiranjeev Rao, the Congress candidate from Rewari, is former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's son-in-law. Married to Lalu’s daughter Anushka, he is supported by his brothers-in-law Tej Pratap and Tejashwi Yadav

All the star campaigners have now rushed into poll-bound Haryana as campaigning has entered its final stages. With Chiranjeev Rao in the fray from Rewari, his brother-in-law Tej Pratap Yadav has come from Bihar to campaign for him.

Chiranjeev Rao, the Congress candidate from Rewari, is the son-in-law of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. Married to Lalu’s daughter Anushka, Rao has the support of his brothers-in-law, Tej Pratap and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.

Tej Pratap has already reached out to Rao in Rewari ahead of the poll battle in Haryana. There are reports that Tejashwi Yadav is also set to join his brother-in-law in the constituency for campaigning.

Chiranjeev Rao is the son of veteran Congress leader and former Haryana Minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav.

Ahead of the major poll battle, Lalu Prasad Yadav advised with his son-in-law that he should always stay connected to the grassroots. “I am a Congress candidate from here, but I always receive Laluji’s blessings. His family is deeply rooted in the community. Laluji is a mass leader, and his blessings are always with me,” Chiranjeev Rao said.

“He (Lalu Prasad Yadav) spoke to me after I received the ticket and advised me to always stay connected to the grassroots. Our family has served the people of Rewari for the last three generations, and I intend to continue that tradition. I am confident that the people will give me a chance,” he added.

Speaking about the support from his brothers-in-law, he said, “Tej Pratap came here, and soon Tejashwi Yadav will also join…”

Voting for the 90-member Haryana Assembly will take place on October 5. The counting of votes is scheduled for October 8.
