Disaster response personnel were deployed in Bengaluru as heavy rainfall battered the city, leading to reports of waterlogging and flooded roads in several areas.
In Yelahanka, located in the northern part of the city, residents of Kendriya Vihar Apartment were rescued using tractor trolleys due to severe flooding.

Visuals of these rescues by disaster response teams were widely shared on social media platform X. One user questioned why there are no proper drains or decent roads, asking where the tax money is going.
“We need a permanent solution on Balagere Road to have basic infra. Kids were dropped off in tractors today. No proper drains and no proper roads. Where our tax money is going? Request immediate action from authorities,” the user’s post read.

In the last 24 hours, until 8:30 am on Wednesday, the city received 66.1 mm of rainfall. Schools in the Bengaluru Urban district were closed, and many IT, biotechnology, and private companies permitted employees to work from home.
Karnataka Deputy CM Urges Precautions Amid Heavy Rains
Earlier today, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar urged residents to take precautions amid heavy rains in the city, as he declared the government’s readiness to handle the situation.
He said the government has the “strength” to manage the problems caused by the rains and to fix the issues that have come up.
“I appeal to citizens to take necessary precautions in the wake of the rains. There might be some traffic issues today,” Shivakumar, who is also the Minister in-charge of Bengaluru Development, said.
He also stated that he would review the situation in the evening with the police, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the fire department, and other relevant officials.
On Tuesday, the incessant rain disrupted normal life in central and southern parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, where many areas experienced waterlogging and traffic congestion.
