At first, the deities of Sri Malayappa Swami and Sri Krishna Swamy were taken to Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami Mutt as a part of the procession.

Janmashtami is celebrated with different cultures and traditions in different parts of the country. As part of the Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, the festival Utlotsavam was grandly celebrated with great joy and pomp on Wednesday, August 28 at Tirumala. This festival is also known as Sikyotsavam.

Traditionally, Utlotsavam is conducted on the day after the Gokulashtami Asthanam at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple. During this event, the deities of Sri Malayappa Swami and Sri Krishna Swamy are taken out for a procession. The deities are often carried on golden palanquins. The procession passes through the streets of the temple, where thousands of devotees wait to take a look at the gods and seek blessing. This festival of Utlotsavam is carried out in several places of Tirumala.

At first, the deities of Sri Malayappa Swami and Sri Krishna Swamy were taken to Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami Mutt as a part of the procession. A special ceremony named Asthanam was organised there. Following this, the Utlotsavam festival took place with great enthusiasm in front of the Srivari temple.

According to media reports, Karthik, Chairman of Tratico Engineering India Private Limited, Chennai, donated a truck with a customisation worth Rs 8 lakhs. TTD Transport Department General Manager Sesha Reddy and other prominent officials were also present at the programme.

On the previous night, a special ritual named Ekanta Tirumanjanam was performed to worship Sri Ugra Srinivasa Murthy, Sridevi, Bhudevi Ammavaru and Sri Krishna Swamy. Following this another ritual named Dvadasaradhanam was performed. Then the deity of Sri Krishna Swamy was placed on the golden Sarva Bhoopala Vahanam.
