One Station One Product (OSOP) is an initiative that promotes artisans, especially from the handicraft section to be able to sell their products.
Eastern Railways has already set up One Station One Product (OSOP) stalls at various stations like Howrah, Sealdah, Malda and Asansol. But now, if you are a local artisan or an entrepreneur, then you can sell your handmade products at fair prices at these stalls at Howrah station. This initiative aims to promote artisans and their businesses in different regions of West Bengal.
One Station One Product (OSOP) is an initiative that promotes artisans, especially from the handicraft section to be able to sell their products. Generally, these artisans lack the opportunity to market their products. Through OSOP, they will have a bigger platform to reach out to customers across the country and be able to sustain their livelihoods successfully.
Artisans are invited to participate in the OSOP project at nearly 100 stations under the Howrah division and 100 under Sealdah. Stalls have been set up at stations like Howrah, Adi Saptagram, Ambika Kalna, Arambagh, Azimganj Junction, Baghila, Chandan Nagar, and Bansberia under this project. Similarly, in the Sealdah division, stalls have been set up at stations like Duttapukur, Piali, Lalgola, Bhagwangola, Murshidabad, Krishnanagar, Bongaon, and Dumdum Cantonment.
For artisans registering for 15 days, the fee is Rs 1,500 including GST and 20 units of electricity usage will be provided free of cost. For 30-day registrations, the fee is Rs 2,000 (including GST), with 40 units of electricity free. Additional charges will apply for electricity usage beyond the limit.

While it is certainly a great opportunity for local artisans and entrepreneurs, it is also an advantage for passengers to be able to buy their favourite handicraft items at affordable rates. This will be beneficial for both parties.
Artisans who have already joined the initiative are displaying their products at these stalls and receiving orders from both domestic and international customers. This has helped talented artists to increase their income and get new employment opportunities. The main motto is to realise the Vocal For Local initiative and the dream of Local to Global.
