Both Krishna Amavasya and Krishna Pratipada are considered inauspicious for starting any new activity as they fall within the Ashubh Muhurta. Additionally, events such as Sarva Pitru Amavasya, Mahalaya, Surya Grahan (Valayakara), Darsha Amavasya, Anvadhan and Ashwin Amavasya are scheduled to be observed on this day.
