‘She Was Groped’: Kumari Selja Seeks Action After Haryana Leader Harassed On Stage At Congress Event

Congress' Selja said no matter which party it was, strict action should be taken against the accused who misbehaved with the young woman leader

A Haryana woman Congress leader was reportedly ‘groped’ on stage in the presence of senior party leader Deepender Singh Hooda. Congress MP Kumari Selja condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the accused.

The Congress MP said she spoke to the young woman leader after learning about the incident and she shared that she was harassed and abused throughout the event. She said it didn’t matter which party it was, no woman should be disrespected.

Speaking to news agency ANI, she said, “I spoke to her, she told me that she was groped there. I have confirmed this with her. If this happens to any woman today, then what can be worse and more reprehensible than this? Action should be taken on this.”

BJP Condemns Incident, Attacks Congress

BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla took to X, condemning the incident and attacking Congress.

He wrote, “Most shocking! A woman congress leader was molested on stage in presence of Deependra Hooda by Congress leaders. Confirmed by news reports and even Kumari Selja. If women are not safe in Congress meetings in full public view during the daytime, can they be safe if Congress comes to power?”

“Remember Simi John, Sharda Rathore, Radhika Khera and many women who were abused by men in Congress itself or spoke up about “casting couch” culture or chamdi-damdi culture in Congress. Where is Priyanka Vadra and Rahul Gandhi? No ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon? Will they act on Hooda supporters?” he asked.
