GATE 2025 Extended Registration Process To Conclude Today at gate2025.iitr.ac.in

GATE 2025: An applicant is allowed to take up to two tests. However, each candidate should submit only one application. If they want to appear for the second paper, they might include it in their original application.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will conclude the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 registration process today, September 3. The exam was held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. Those yet to apply may complete the registration process by visiting the official website of GATE IIT Roorkee at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

An applicant is allowed to take up to two tests. However, each candidate should submit only one application. If they want to appear for the second paper, they might include it in their original application. The official notice further mentions that if there are several applications, only one will be approved, and the remaining applications will be denied with no refund for the application fees.

Candidates in their third or higher years of an undergraduate degree programme or who have finished a government-approved degree programme in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities are eligible to apply for the test.

How To Apply For GATE 2025?

Step 1: Visit gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Step 2: Search and click on the application form.

Step 3: Register yourself with the required details.

Step 4: After logging in, fill out the GATE 2025 application form. Submit all the necessary documents.

Step 5: Pay the application fee and submit.

Step 6: Download and take a hard copy of the acknowledgment form for future reference.

GATE 2025 Application Fees

The registration fee for this is Rs 900 for SC, ST, PwD, and female candidates and Rs 1800 for unreserved category candidates. However, if the candidates of female, SC, ST, and Divyang categories apply with a late fee, they will have to pay Rs 1400 and others will have to pay Rs 2300.

GATE 2025 Exam Pattern

The GATE 2025 will be held for three hours and consist of 30 test papers. It will include General Aptitude and the candidate’s chosen subjects. Questions in the candidate’s chosen subjects will be of various forms, such as multiple choice (MCQ), multiple select questions (MSQ), and/or numerical answer type (NAT). The test papers will be administered in English. Each GATE paper carries 100 marks.

As per the marking scheme of GATE, negative markings will be applied to each incorrect answer in the MCQ section. For each incorrect one-mark MCQ, one-third of the mark will be deducted. For a two-mark MCQ, a two-thirds mark deduction will be applicable. There is no negative grading for incorrect answers to MSQ or NAT questions, but candidates will also not get partial marks in MSQs. As per the official notice, the results will be declared on March 19, 2025.
