After graduating from IIM Bangalore, Divya Mittal worked at JP Morgan in London. A year later, she returned to India.
IAS officer Divya Mittal, the District Magistrate of Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria, is currently garnering headlines for her administration in the flood-affected areas. She has been in the news for some time during her posting. She was recently transferred to Deoria. Recently, a video of the DM Divya Mittal went viral in which she offered her chair to a student for two hours. The name of the student who will sit on the DM’s chair is Khushi Mani Tripathi. She studies in 12th in PM Shri Government Inter College. She is a resident of Shivpuram Colony of Ramnath Deoria in the city.
Khushi scored 92 per cent marks in high school. Officials say that Khushi was selected after interviewing many other students. When Khushi became the District Magistrate for two hours, she heard the problems of the public and gave instructions to the officials. Khushi later said that she felt very good to become the District Magistrate for two hours. She aspires to serve the country by becoming an officer in future too.
Divya Mittal is a 2013 batch IAS officer. Before Deoria, Divya Mittal was the District Magistrate of Mirzapur, Basti etc. Divya Mittal is originally from Rewari district of Haryana. She was born in Delhi. She did B.Tech from IIT Delhi from 2001-05. After that, she took the CAT exam and did an MBA from IIM Bangalore in 2005-07.
After graduating from IIM, she worked at JP Morgan in London. After a year, she returned to India. She started preparing for UPSC. She appeared for the first time in 2012. She cracked UPSC. Divya Mittal got the post of IPS in the Gujarat cadre, but she once again tried her luck in the UPSC examination and became IAS in 2013.
Since joining the administrative service, she has been the DM of Mirzapur, Basti Sant Kabir Nagar and other areas. Apart from this, Divya Mittal has worked as VC of Bareilly Development Authority, Joint MD of UPSIDA, Gonda CDO and Mawana Meerut. She has also worked as an Assistant Secretary at NITI Aayog. Divya is known for reportedly making important contributions, such as providing water access to Lahuria Dah village in Mirzapur.
