Bengaluru police are probing how a rowdy sheeter like Pawan Gowda was able to beat and strip the victim in a place that gets a lot of footfall.
Bengaluru police on Monday registered a case after a video surfaced showing a rowdy sheeter forcing a man to strip, then assault and chase him on a busy road of the city.
Cops said they have arrested the suspect named as Pawan Gowda alias Kadubu. The victim, who was assaulted, also has a criminal past.
The incident occurred 10 days ago but the police took action after the video went viral, CNN-News18 has learned.

The area where the incident occurred is a prime area of the city.
“If you want to make it out of this area alive, then leave your clothes here,” Gowda is alleged to have said.
The incident has raised serious questions regarding the law and order situation in the city.
The person assaulted did not file any complaint till Monday. The police decided to initiate a suo motu probe. They have said that the motive appears to be personal. Cops are yet to make an arrest in the case.
