A book fair is being held in the Madurai district, South of Tamil Nadu for the Anime series lovers. Anime is a style of animation originating in Japan that is characterised by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action-filled plots. According to Local 18 Tamil Nadu, at this fair, manga (comics and graphic novels originating from Japan) are being sold at low and discounted prices. Amongst the Manga comics, one of the most popular comic books is Naruto.
Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It narrates the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. Naruto Uzumaki has become a famous character over time.
A bookseller named Mathiazhagan said that everyone’s favourite manga ie- comic books Naruto, Boruto, One-Punch Man, Bieach, and children’s books like Pokemon, and Dragon Ball Z. According to the bookseller, the college students are more in this fair.
Another popular book being sold at this fair is The Death Note. It is a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The series revolves around a high school student who finds a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone by writing the victim’s name while picturing their face.
The Manga comic books narrate a variety of interesting stories and are being sold as a box for Rs 12,000 to 14,000 rupees and as individual books as well. The bookseller Mathiazhagan said that he and other booksellers Imported these comics directly from Japan and are selling them at this book festival.
He added that these books are not so easily available anywhere else. Besides these comics, other books that are being sold at this fair are motivational books such as Rich Dad Poor Dad and The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. Other books are Winning Attitude: How To Create Extraordinary Results, Ikigai: and The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life. The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and other Japanese comic books are being sold at a discount of ten per cent.
