All categories of employees, including contract workers, who received the festival allowance last year will receive the allowance at the same rate this year
The Kerala government has announced a bonus of Rs 4,000 for state government employees and teachers on the occasion of Onam. Finance Minister KN Balagopal said that a special festive allowance of Rs 2,750 will be given to those who are not eligible for this bonus.
Service pensioners will also receive a special festive allowance of Rs 1,000. Retired employees under the participatory pension scheme will also benefit from this special festival allowance.
An Onam advance of Rs 20,000 will also be provided to all government employees in the state. For other employees, including part-time workers, the advance will be Rs 6,000.
All categories of employees, including contract workers, who received the festival allowance last year will receive the allowance at the same rate this year. The special assistance for Onam will benefit more than 13 lakh employees and workers in the state.
Despite the financial difficulties faced by the state, the government has decided not to reduce the Onam benefits for employees. All benefits granted last year have been retained for this year as well.
