The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested the former principal of RG Kar Hospital on charges of corruption and will be in police custody for eight days.
Since the RG Kar hospital case shook the whole country, several arrests have been made by the authorities. The most recent being the arrest of its ex-principal Sandip Ghosh. This brought immense happiness to the victim’s family but it was short-lived, as they believe the real culprits are still out there.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested the former principal of RG Kar Hospital on charges of corruption and will be in police custody for eight days. As per the Local18 reports, the news was a source of joy to the victim’s family and neighbours. According to them, the deceased doctor wanted to expose the web of corruption that was running at the institution. They suspect that the former principal was also involved in the unfortunate incident, which occurred last month.
The victim’s aunt talked to the media on behalf of her family, where she mentioned how the protests across the country led to this moment. She stated, “This is a moral victory for the students and doctors who have been protesting for 25 days. It’s also a moral victory for our family.” The family feels that the case is on the right track and they will soon see justice, hoping the one behind the crime will be behind bars.
She adds, “Our daughter has been a victim of corruption, in that case, the arrest of Dr Sandip Ghosh has breathed a sigh of relief,” and mentioned how their late daughter is not yet at peace. According to her, the victim’s soul will only find peace once the real culprits are sent to jail. She said the former principal was only arrested for corruption and not for involvement in the brutal murder. The family is of the belief that the arrested principal is also behind the crime, stated the aunt.
