Son of a Retired Income Tax Officer, Mumbai Student Aces IIT-JEE with AIR 17

With aspirations of pursuing a BTech degree in Computer Science, Aryan aims to study at IIT Bombay, a top choice for his research-focused career goals.

In the competitive world of engineering education, cracking the IIT-JEE examination is a remarkable achievement. For many aspiring engineers, securing admission to any one of IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) is the ultimate goal. The IIT-JEE, renowned for its rigourous standards, is a formidable challenge faced by countless students across the country. Among those who have triumphed is 17-year-old Aryan Prakash from Mumbai, who secured an impressive All India Rank of 17 in the JEE Advanced 2024 exam.

Aryan’s journey to success is particularly noteworthy given his background. Both of his parents are retired income tax officers with strong mathematics foundations – his father holds a degree in physics, while his mother has an MSc in mathematics. Aryan himself has a keen interest in both mathematics and science, a passion that he attributes to his supportive family, mentors, and teachers.

With aspirations of pursuing a BTech degree in Computer Science, Aryan aims to study at IIT Bombay, a top choice for his research-focused career goals. His educational path began at Billabong School in Malad, followed by intensive preparation at a private institute.

Aryan’s dedication to his studies was evident in his disciplined routine. According to a report by TOI, his daily schedule included waking up at 7 am, beginning his studies by 8:30 am, and continuing until 12:30 pm, with intermittent 15-minute breaks. He maintained this rigourous regimen for two years, studying for 12-13 hours each day.

Aryan believes that success in the IIT-JEE requires both hard work and mental resilience. He emphasises the importance of staying calm and focused during exams, regardless of the difficulty level. His approach underscores a belief in maintaining a controlled mind, avoiding mistakes in moments of excitement, and managing stress during challenging times.

Aryan Prakash’s story is a testament to dedication, hard work, and the support of a nurturing environment, serving as an inspiration for many aspiring students aiming to achieve greatness in their academic and professional lives.
